Emmy 2016 Fashion Hot or Not!

I'm not a huge fashionista but this year's Emmy Awards were very hit and miss. No offense caused with the opinions given in this post.

I love Tina Fey I think she's amazing she's a comedic genius, green is an amazing colour for her. She looks very classy.

The dragon lady herself Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones Reference) she is too a pale lady like myself and surprisingly the pastel pink looks beautiful colour on her.

As an actress I like Sarah Hyland but this outfit is very random and a bit all over for an awards shows. I really like her shoes though.

The beautiful Sophie Turner, I'm not a fan of her dress but it looks good on her. It's very vampy perfect for the fall/Halloween season.

Stay Safe in the Sun this Summer!

Staying safe in the sun this summer:

There are so many helpful tips for staying safe in the sun for both children and adults, they are very simple steps but they will keep you protected throughout the summer and avoid that nasty sunburn that everyone dreads, especially if you are pale like myself.

+
 Stay Hydrated:
Make sure you drink plenty and not just of the alcoholic variety I know it's a lot nicer to indulge in cocktails or a cheeky Pimms but it actually dyhydrates your skin and can casue fainting and severe headaches.
Makes sure you applying sun cream regularly as it keeps your skin from burning also a good thing to look out for is the UV rating which is in stars on the back of the bottle and that is a good indication of how good that sun cream is.
I personally use factor 50 all the time in both England and abroad as my skin burns a lot as I am very fair.

After sun is key even if you haven't burnt whilst being in the sun it will then add moisture back into your skin and will prevent your tan from fading aim for a body butter type of cream for added moisture.

If it's sunny protect your scalp it's important as your head is going to be one of the hottest parts of you and your scalp will be exposed. If you don't like hats then making sure your parting is covered is key.
Sunglasses are important for keeping the sun out of your eyes. Make sure the UV in the glasses is high they recommend over 400 as that's better for keeping your eyes safe.

Lipstick Of The Week! Nyx Special

This has quickly become a firm favourite of mine, angel food cake it's a nude pink and would flatter any skin tone. NYX is now a major contender for my top drugstore makeup brand. It's new to England and now they are in every Boots in the country. I'd heard amazing things about the butter glosses and couldn't wait to get my hands on one. They smell amazing like fresh baked goods. The consistency is good and doesn't bother me and most lip glosses I cant stand. I'll b  be going to pick up
some more at the next oppinunity.

Naked 3 Palette- Urban Decay

This has become one of favourite palettes, It's a beautiful palette for that golden summer glow, it has lots of golden champagne colours along with some mattes. The ones I tend to use are the matte dark pink and the light champagne the most.
It's really easy to create an eye look with this palette. The shadows are easy to blend,  a smoky eye is easy to achieve with this palette, this is a very different kind of palette to the ones I usually go for. smoky silvers and dark greys are more the colours I vear towards.
I would really recommend it.

Love At First Blush- Revlon

This is the 4th one of this blush I've been through, it's just the nicest pink shade I've found for my skin. It's pastel and has a slight shimmer to it which could also be used as a highlighter if used in the right place. I use the real techniques blush brush with my blusher.
Blusher is a whole new concept to me as I have never been interested with it because my skin is pale I could never find the right shade. This is Revlon Rose Glow and It's £6.99 which is a total steal.

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette HOT OR NOT

HOT
I honestly am in love with this palette, I'm obsessed the silver shades I use for nights out and the bronzy shades I use as more of a day look. I love the neutrals to.
The champagne shade is most used and my favourite matte shade cracked because it's so well loved and I always take it if I'm traveling. I don't use the shadow brush it comes with but that's because I'm really into my own brushes that I use the Real Techniques brushes but the shades are really good for blending into the crease of the socket. I brought it at the airport on the way back from holiday so I did get it a bit cheaper. Honestly best palette I have ever brought.

My gradual Tan routine

In the summer months I am always looking for the easy Tan option as I am very pale and have no pigment to my skin, I basically cannot tan without the help of a little fake and bake. These are my top picks of the year so far.
Piz Buin gradual face tanner, this is my holy grail at the moment it leaves my skin looking natural and it doesn't smell of baked biscuits which is what most self tanner smell like. I found this online for £10 but well worth it for the naturalness of the product on the skin.
Sun shimmer from Rimmel, It's got Argan Oil in it so it smells a lot better than the peachy smelling gradual tanners. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and not clogged up. For me such a steal at £7.99 as a little bit goes a long way.

Be the best version of yourself!

I hate trying new things but I signed up for a beauty course as I spend a fortune on beauty treatments. It's something and I'm not used to doing and confident on myself but to do it for someone else is something completely different. I like a challenge so I feel it will be good to get out there and learn something new just to better myself.
I'll keep you posted on how it's getting on and I may include some photo's of treatments I've done.

Sia- 1000 forms of fear

I am Sia obsessed at the moment so I was really excited when she announced that she would be one of the headliners for V festival. We have tickets so we are very excited but she is amazing and came out of no where although she was a famous Australian singer many years ago but she's gone from almost unknown to a major success over night. Her new album is eccentric and fun and catchy and I can't wait to see what she releases next.

My New post once a month will be music monthly and I'll be laying down all my new faves from the month.

Lottie London Make up Brushes

I am in love with these make up brushes they are very inexpensive at around £10 a brush I purchased a bronzer brush and a foundation brush as I needed to replace my Real Techniques brushes as they had become old. I love the fact the bronzer brush is a big brush that can cover a bigger especially when you are doing a figure of 3 motion around your face.
The foundation brush is amazing at blending makeup with leaving it looking cakey.

Can Men and Women just be FRIENDS?

There are so many pro's and cons for this:

  • Guys make the best friends and they don't judge you for random fashion choices or think she looks rough if your wasn't on point.
  • I personally have a male sense of humour so I get guy jokes and find them funny where as some of my friends wouldn't have a clue what they were on about, I personally blame the fact I have 2 brothers for this.
  • Men have the best taste in music I love indie rock and most men like the same music as me where as some of my friends just think my music taste is a bit odd.
  • They can give great advice I have 3 male best friends and they give amazing advice as they see things logically they don't have the emotion first so they tell it to you straight.

My amazing best friend Lloyd

The only cons I can think of, I'm struggling to think of them:
  • Sometimes feelings do arise and it's such a pain as its either reciprocated or you end up losing them as they can't deal with it or you can't.
  • I find football to be a pain as all the men I know love it and if you want them to listen/shop with you then you have to sit through it first.

I don't know what I would do with out them, so go and embrace them, you never know they may surprise you.

Maybelline vivid matte liquid lipsticks

Maybelline have come out with an amazing new liquid Lipstick range the colours are a very interesting selection some warm and cool tones.
They retail for £6.99 I only brought the colours I thought I would wear. The colours I left and didn't but one was a hot bright red, a deep red, a hot pink and a tangy orange colour they were beautiful to look at but not the right shades for my skin tone.
Having tried them today I like the consistency but unlike most liquid lipsticks I like matte finishes and these look matte but are still very wet I wore it for 45mins and did the drink test and it failed the lipstick came straight off and was all over the cup. I would defo wear them again but I would need to re apply a lot I feel which is a bit of a pain.

How to avoid awkward Football situations!

Get on your boyfriends good side. I know football season is over but these are some tips for next season:
  1. If you don't know which way the team you are watching are kicking, ask someone quietly don't shout it out I've been guilty of this in the past and guys/ family hate it when they have to keep answering silly questions, in their minds it's something everyone should know and trust me girls its perfectly find not knowing anything about football!
  2. If you know names of players then that's amazing but make sure they still play for the team before you cheer for them. I had a horrible experience with this, I went to see Arsenal and was certain we would see Cheryl Cole in the mass 10,000 strong crowd which I later found out Ashley Cole had left the club the previous year and the men around me found that hilarious I however felt ridiculous.
  3. Pay attention it's  key. No one want to watch the you kill your phone battery checking every social media you are on and you miss a goal and have to blag the fact you saw it.
  4. Yes it's okay to loathe it but embrace it trust me when he's shopping with you he's trying to do the same thing.
  5. Dress for the weather no flipflops and always pack a jacket football is a winter sport and it really isn't warm when the wind is whistling through the stands.

Football really isn't that bad, boring maybe but if you don't like it that much make other plans to do something else so you never have to go.

Possitive Vibes Only

Positive Vibes only is my new motto, I've been lacking any kid of motivation in a few weeks on the blog and I seem to have finally got back into my stride. I've realised that life goes past far to quickly and I am guilty of forgetting to not stop and enjoy the moment as it arises. I've got to learn it's okay to say no to the things you hate doing but you feel obligated that you have to. It's nearing the middle of May and I've got nothing to show for the last 5 months. I'm setting my self a challenge a bit like 100 days happy but mine is far more boring I'm just gonna take some me time and use that bath bomb I
haven't found time for or that face mask my skin is in desperate need for.
So this is me manning up.

Hot or not Harry Styles new hair!

Okay okay I fell for the guy that tricked us all into thinking that he was Harry Styles, I sent it to all my friends because let's be real he looked way hotter with short hair.
He's not even my favourite directioner was more of a Niall or Liam girl but when this photo popped up on my twitter I was sending to everyone I know so I could hear there opinion on it.

It's clearly on of the best face infusion things I've ever seen.
There's been no official photo taken of him without a hat on so the world is waiting on his hair.

Harry has clearly done a wonderful thing by donating his hair to the Princess Trust who make wigs for children who have cancer. So maybe that's what we should focus on the gesture behind the snip.

Barry M Coconut Infused nail varnishes

Bikini is a mint green so in love.
I saw these and I was really intrigued at the concept of coconut infused nail varnish, the consistency is smooth and the smell is way better than the standard nail polish smell. The colour is really opaque as you can see after 2 coats it's good to go. At £3.99 they really are steal as they are 3 for 2 in superdrug at the moment. I just got a couple to try but I will be going back to buy the rest of the colours.

Barry M Speedy Dry Nail varnish

Since having my acrylic's taken off I've been looking for hassle free nail varnish and this is it. There only £3.99 and they dry with in 20 seconds which to me is amazing you do need 2 coats though.

The 1975

The 1975 are one of my favourite bands at the moment, their new album has not long come out and I can't seem to get enough of them.
I love the first album for me it was their song chocolate that drew me too them it was on every radio station and it was so catchy.
The new album is amazing and I would download or buy it now my faves on the album are the sound and this must be dream.

Shower Routine!

Yes I am one of these people who can lose a good 45 mins in the shower daily mainly because I get distracted very easily. These are the products I use and one other thing I find is key is music and good music at that something you can sing along too.

Top 5 Shower songs:
  1. Mumford and sons-Little Lion man
  2. Taylor swift- we are never get back together
  3. Adele- Someone like you
  4. Les Mis- On My Own
  5. Wicked- Defying Gravity
Products:
For hair washing at the moment as my hair is bleach blonde I've been using bleach London which is £5 each for the shampoo or conditioner. I like to leave the shampoo on for 10 mins for max results.

These are my core products I use daily Clearasil is for my skin because even at 24 I get crazy outbreaks of spots I like to leave it on with my shampoo and take it off at the same time, usually you can pick this up for £3.99. Whipped clean by soap and glory is amazing it smells like chocolate and its very moisturing for the skin, it's a bit more expensive for a shower gel at £5.99. The scrub of your life is the best exfoliater I've tried from soap and glory and it's not to bad a price at £7.99, it just gets rid of all those old skin cells to keep skin looking new and it's perfect to use before tanning.

MUA do a huge range of colours in there eyeshadow range that's only £1 I only brought the colours that I thought I could use, I love a silver smoky eye as the bronze shades don't suit me. The colour pay off in these shadows is actually really good and I'm going back to pick up some more different shades, I've even done swatch's for you.

Nail miracle product lifesaver!

Bourjois Nail Remover Pot

Now I'm not late to the party with this I've been using different versions of this for years. But this is by far my fave it even smells better than some of the others I've used. This one is £6.99 so it's the most expensive ones of these I've used in a very long time. It really is the one second treatment it claims you dip your finger in and twist round quickly and like magic it's gone. So much better than pads that break or nail varnish remover that really dries the nail beds out.

These things in life are really sent to try us!

Just me yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful, magical person that you are.:
I'm a fun loving girl who loves spending every minute with her friends and family.
I've come to the conclusion that when we stop waiting around for things to come to us, things usually end up way better than we ever could have expected.
Now I work within the education system and I do like it but I'm starting to wonder what other jobs are out there for someone who enjoys being around people all the time.
So my mission this year is to learn new skill whether that means sky diving or going on a waxing course I think this is the year I find myself or at least that's the plan...

The struggle is real!

So recently I've been stuck in a bit of a funk with life. I've been struggling to concentrate on any aspect of it with out feeling stress and a bit mean to everyone, It's not been intentional I think maybe I've just got bored of the same routine.
So I made a list of the things I want to by the end of the year.
  1. Head to another festival which I am doing V fest all over again
  2. Get in some sunshine Menorca here I come
  3. stop saying no to things say yes!
  4. Learn to save more spend less, the shopping habbit is real.
  5. Be more spontaneous
  6. Have more sleepovers
  7. Go to an ourdoor cinema
  8. Go to a beer festival
  9. save to go traveling
some are big things others small but it gives time to focus on the good and positive.
